2011 first in to-buy list...
Haven't give a real thought of what's I'm going to buy this year; however the first thing come into mind is laptop (while s.o is eager to buy desktop). I'd love a Mac Book Pro, but it's a bit too expensive for me and I can't support it now... so I change to the cheap(est?) one. Anyone can guess the brand? ;-)

bit cheaper compared to MAC is IBM Thinkpad (currently known as Lenovo ThinkPad)
I wouldn't suggest MAC for you.... As I think you need a more powerful laptop than just a look... Think of Budget and performance, I think DELL would fit it well... Acer is cheap but performance is not satisfy....

@chlang: If I have money to buy IBM, I would just buy Mac Book Pro instead :P
@seila: Mac is not a powerful computer? Think again... Most of developers who need powerful computer are using Mac. I wonder if Mac is just for look.
MAC is powerful, but not laptop! buying MAC laptop for developer is not really a good choice!!

@gaara: in big conference like RailsConf, I can see 95% of developer are using Mac.
@pinkii: MacBook Air is for biz ppl only. It's not suitable for developer. The spec is too low for developer.
